Mhardz Guivarra

Founder and Editor

Mhardz Guivarra is a novelist, fictionist, poet, illustrator, blogger, literary editor, essayist, painter, scriptwriter, song composer, spoken poetry artist, contributing author, and an advocate for the LGBTQIA+ Community. He Is someone who has published works in various types of publications, such as print or electronic. His works are part of several international and local publications. Mhardz Guivarra likes to take pictures of the surroundings or the nature. He is the founder of Hiwaga, and editor of its pieces. He is a volunteer writer at Likha Avenue. He is a moderator at the Fanhwaan Literary Awards. He is the literary editor of Ang Singkaw (2022-2023). He is also a member of PYAP who is the president of the Barangay Chapter and he is also a member of the Youth and Student for Peace Aloran Chapter. Year 2022-2023, he is registered and certified by the National Book Development Board-Philippines. Mhardz also dream of becoming a fashion designer or fashion sketcher, inspirational speaker, business owner, designer (book cover designer and manuscript layout editor), host, filming, famous photographer, and become a famous in various fields. Some of his works are Women’s Place published under Ukiyoto Publishing, For His Love published at Agape Review, and Miracle (included in Margate Bookie’s Issue 3). His other pieces are in different parts of the platform.

Are you open for call for submissions?

Yes. We accept submissions from poets and writers around the world. There is no deadline and we accept literary works only.
Yes. Hiwaga Literary Magazine is always open for submission.

Where to submit my literary works?

You can submit to our email address only at hiwagalitmagazine@gmail.com
We will consider submissions from writers and poets around the world. For non-english language except Filipino, it should have english translation. Your submissions must be original and have not been published by any publications, print or digital. In submitting your literary works, it means that you give us your permission to publish it on our website and in the future publications (you will be contacted by email). 
For complete guidelines: 
1. Poetry: 1-10 poems in a single document. It’s either docx, docs, or text. Please don’t send the file as pdf. Poems may vary to any theme, and any length.  For your submissions, in your email, your subject line should be like this: HIWAGA-(TITLE OF YOUR POETRY)-(YOUR NAME)-REGPOST

*We will only reply if your submissions will be considered or will be posted in our website. You can wait the result within 1 week to 1 month only. 
*Please be reminded that your poems should be clean as green. At least 95 percent clean. Less typos and grammar errors.

2. Prose: Any theme. 500-1000 of word count only. In one document, send as docs, docx, or in the body of the email. For your submissions, in your email, your subject line should be like this: HIWAGA-(TITLE OF YOUR PROSE)-(YOUR NAME)-REGPOST

*We will only reply if your submissions will be considered or will be posted in our website. You can wait the result within 1 week to 1 month only. 

*Please be reminded that your prose should be clean as green. At least 95 percent clean. Less typos and grammar errors.

As of now, we only accept poetry and prose. For more updates, please subscribe to us, and/or message for more questions.

Do you pay contributors?

No. As of now we can’t pay our contributors because Hiwaga Literary Magazine has no profit. But we will give e-certificate to the contributors for contributing to our online literary magazine. We are small and volunteers. We can’t pay contributors yet.

Are you strict to your guidelines? 

Half yes and half no. But we will always consider your works. We love to support you. 

Do you have zine, issues, and anthologies?

Yes. The future always takes its part. If ever happens in the future, we will make sure the details are posted.
